This is a mini fourdrinier section developed by Toscotec. The unit allows an operating speed of 400 mpm with cylinder former paper machines, but with a reduced investment compared to conventional fourdrinier sections. TT ShortFormer operates under the felt (like forming drums) but forms on a wire (like fourdriniers).

The configuration assumes a hydraulic headbox forming under pressure on a multi-sector forming board with increasing levels of vacuum; this solution allows optimal CD/MD ratio control to suit various customer requirements.
