TT SYD is a revolutionary product for the world of tissue production. Thanks to its remarkable experience in manufacturing steel dryers for paper & board machines, Toscotec developed this concept and finally installed its first Steel Yankee Dryer in 2000.
Due to its innovative technical characteristics and construction, TT SYD guarantees a higher drying capacity and significant energy savings when compared with conventional cast iron Yankee dryers. Each size of TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer offers a high level of flexibility in defining paper sheet width on the face length. Toscotec’s broad manufacturing experience assures the highest construction quality for TT SYD and absolute operational reliability. Manufactured, tested and certified according to European (PED), American (ASME), P.R. China (CSEI) and Japanese (JIS) regulations, TT SYD are capable of operating at up to 10 bar of steam pressure.

Among the various features of the technology, one particular highlight is that, for the same dryer face length, the TT SYD with flat heads allows for a wider tissue sheet to be dried. This is of particular interest when replacing an existing cast iron Yankee. Even with the same Yankee frame, it is possible to increase the net sheet width at the pope reel. Toscotec can thus provide a very competitive, reliable rebuild solution for the tissue industry, with quick pay back.

YD thermal insulation is also available to reduce heat loss from the head, thereby increasing energy saving.
