Toscotec hydraulic OPTIMA Rewinder due to his versatility and high perfomances is capable of operating in line with high speed tissue machines such as those in the AHEAD family.

The hydraulic control of all winding phases, supervised by a sophisticated PLC, guarantees extremely uniform reels without compromising and preserving the quality of the finished product.
Toscotec OPTIMA Rewinder can be equipped with up to four unwind stands equipped by compensating unevenness mother reel system and CWA (center wind assist control), skew or crown controlled type calender, slitting group with independent and motorized counterknives, automatic shaft puller and core loading system.

Closed loop hydraulic system the NIP control is made by constant feedbacks coming from load cells mounted on rider roll and chucks. It works in the following way:

  • The operator sets the presumed thickness and basis weight measured on the mother reel. These are the needed value to be taken under control.
  • The system is constantly calculating the weight of the winding reel.
  • The reel growing follows the parameters set for the web thickness.
  • The control system acquires the signals coming from the load cell.
  • In case of the thickness set into the system is not correct, the NIP increases or decreases dramatically. In this case the System corrects automatically, without operator intervention, the thickness value to the right one, restoring the control balance.
  • The control works on thickness preservation and on the finished reel density control.
